Students can view video segments of native speakers from several different countries regarding common topics.  The website includes questions that students can answer during or after watching and listening. Countries include Colombia, Spain, Cuba, Mexico and Argentina.

Flash cultura 

Provides six free videos from Argentina, Mexico, Spain, Costa Rica, Peru and Costa Rica. Videos are short, concise and thespeakers all speak clearly and relatively slowly. 

Being Latino 

provides 17 Spanish video podcasts discussing what it means to be Latino in the United States.  Videos have English subtitles.  

Listening comprehension 

Offers short interactive audio clips about various topics to practice both listening and speaking.  Clips are divided into two levels and are able to be downloaded.  The site also provides a script for each clip. 

Listening and reading comprehension through poetry 

Provides a collection of poems read by native speakers.  Poems can be searched by poets's name, title, country or century. 

Reading comprehension through magazines 

Provides a monthly electronic magazine created for teachers and students of Spanish.  Each monthly magazine has three different articles representing three levels of difficulty.  Each article has related activities dealing with it's content, vocabulary, and grammatical structures. 

Reading comprehension through children's literature 

Contains several children's books in the target language.  Students can read books in Spanish online page by page. 

Exploring culture through expressions 

Provides common expressions in Spanish, French and English.  Expressions can be searched by category or keyword and for each expression there is an English equivalent, a link to hear it pronounced and one contextual example of the expression.  Under the "actividades" link there are short cartoons providing a visual representation of each expression. 

Spanish newsbites 

provides short news articles in Spanish divided by both topic and level: beginner, intermediate and advanced. The site has downloadable MP3 files with the article read by a native speaker, as well as PDF files providing the text and new vocabulary, and a practice exercise for each article.  If the PDF is saved as text, it can be edited.
